Summer Institute set for August 7 at Brookhaven College

The Workforce Center of the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council Foundation (DFWHC Foundation) will be hosting the 2014 edition of the Summer Institute from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., August 7 at Brookhaven College in Dallas. The special educational event, “Transition to Practice for New Graduate Nurses,” is presented by the North Texas Consortium of Schools of Nursing and Practice Partners.

The morning session will include hiring strategies for managers, what to look for in new graduates and a panel discussion. The afternoon session will look at successful transition programs with a focus on hospital residencies, concluding with a panel of residency program graduates.

Prior to the program, a grant writing seminar will be hosted by the DFWHC Foundation from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

There will be 5.75 CNE offered. Tarrant County Hospital District dba JPS Health Network is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Texas Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
