Kristin Jenkins

Kristin left the practice of law in 1998 to enter hospital administration with JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, Texas. After 10 years with JPS, Kristin was selected to be the President of the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council Foundation. Kristin supports the Foundation’s trustees, staff and their many collaborators in their quest to enhance services and add value to North Texas’ healthcare industry. Kristin enjoys “branching out” into new areas and launching new projects. Kristin loves to goof off at home with her husband, two daughters, three horses and seven dogs. She also loves music and her TCU Horned Frogs. Go Frogs! |
Richard C. Howe

Richard is executive director of the North Texas Regional Extension Center. Previously, he served in several healthcare IT positions as a consultant and executive. Richard was also a CIO at two academic medical centers, a software vendor executive and a medical school professor. He graduated from the University of Colorado and obtained his doctorate degree from UCLA. He also served in the U.S. Army as a Medical Service Corp officer. During his spare time, Richard loves to work on the “Howe Genealogy” and has discovered more than 700 people in his family tree. You will also find him riding his bike around the Irving area or working out at the gym. He and his wife live in Las Colinas and are very active in their church. |
Patrick J. Casey

Patrick has over 20 years’ experience in contract management, programming, financial analysis, technology sales, EHR product development and IT consulting. Now as the Meaningful Use and Quality Assurance Specialist for NTREC he oversees the project management of hundreds of North Texas healthcare practices as they migrate towards Meaningful Use of EHR technology. In his spare time Patrick is an avid bird watcher, mountain bike rider and guitar player, (though not all at once). |
Crystee Cooper-Walton

Crystee’s dedication to the health and well-being of the medically underserved, Native American communities and geriatric populations is rooted in 20 years of experience in healthcare. She began her journey as a Minority High School Apprenticeship Program Scholar at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. Crystee attended A. T. Still University where she earned a Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Health Education degree. She has held leadership roles in public housing, public health and most recently indigent care as a member of the grants administration team at Parkland Health & Hospital System. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering with civic groups, travelling and listening to an eclectic collection of music. Crystee is a classically trained vocalist and plays several instruments including the piano and the electrostatic organ. |
Nancy Elgendy

Nancy, a native of Jackson, MS currently lives in Carrollton, TX. She and her fiancé have 4 children ranging in ages from 4 months to 15 years old. Nancy received her Associate of Science degree in Computer Electronics Technology. She has worked in the healthcare field for 6 years. This experience gave her insight and understanding for her position with the North Texas Regional Extension Center and its mission. In her spare time, she likes to spend quality time with family, travel and relax. |
Neguiel Francis

Although Neguiel has a banking and finance background, his love for health care led him to complete his MBA with a focus in Health Care Management. Neguiel worked for Baylor Health Care System as their Corporate Workforce Planning Analyst before joining the DFWHC Foundation. With the launch of the new Workforce tool, SonarVision Enterprise, Neguiel is well positioned to help the North Texas region hospitals and educational institutions identify the right healthcare workforce at the right time. He has been certified as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and is an advocate for continuous process improvement. Outside the world of work he loves spending time with his family. |
Theresa Mendoza

Theresa has a background in healthcare information technology and has been a team member of the DFWHC Foundation since 2003. Theresa has 17 years experience in Healthcare Informatics and also serves as the HIPAA Privacy Officer for the DFWHC where she participated in the implementation of all the policies and security. Her second job includes spending time with her handsome husband of 18 years, three beautiful princesses, one princely boy, and our dog in charge named Lila. |
Kathleen Munger

Kathleen has over 20 years’ experience in Oil & Gas, Real Estate and Health Care where she has been a marketer, administrator, and an owner of companies. As the Customer Outreach Coordinator Kathleen, along with the NTREC staff, assist physicians reach Meaningful Use. Another area she will be working on is Physician Data Analytics. Kathleen has a long family history in Dallas with Munger Place and SMU therefore; she and her two sons are involved with those, volunteer at their church in Highland Park, working with the boy’s private school, National and Children’s charities/events. She enjoys watching her boy’s school/sporting events, music, doing a multitude of athletic & cultural activities with her sons and friends. |
Ed Schmitt

Ed came to the DFWHC Foundation with 7 Years progressive responsibility in health systems planning and hospital decision support services at UT Southwestern Hospitals. Currently, Ed assists data services in research and development, improvements of data management, and quality program management. He also builds fine furniture with his son and is an avid sports fan. His favorite players of all-time include Nolan Ryan, George Brett, John Elway, and Derrick Thomas. |
Sushma Sharma

Sushma is a scientific professional leader with more than ten years of post-doctoral experience in research, management, and academia. Prior to DFWHC, she was at UC Berkeley, where her focus was on conducting, managing and supervising interventions and community based health research programs. She leads community research collaboratives and manages public health research initiatives of the DFWHC Foundation, striving for the ultimate goal of enhancing the quality of healthcare in the North Texas community. She has extensive experience in conducting and managing research, with skills and experience in establishing initiatives and maintaining collaborations. She has published more than 25 peer-reviewed publications in international journals. She serves on the Editorial Board for several international journals, and is also an invitee Reviewer for a number of scientific journals. She has traveled extensively across the world, and enjoys traveling or spending time with her children and husband in her spare time. |
Greg Shelton

Greg has worked for over 10 years with the VHA Group Purchasing Members to improve technology acquisition and utilization. Driving initiatives related to technology to improve efficiency, marketing, and championing specific technologies that improve the ability to better analyze data is his goal working for the Foundation. He is actively involved with the Friends of the Santa Fe Trail and spends his spare time helping to launch the new “Hike and Bike” Trail. |
Nathan Stafford

After graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2009, Nathan worked with a transportation and logistics company before taking the position of data coordinator. While in the university, Nathan participated in debate, the Latin American Student Organization, Latinos Unidos, and taught English to Bosnian immigrants. Nathan is currently working on his MBA at the UTA. He looks forward to improving quality assurance and working with customers. Nathan’s dark secret is that he has never learned how to skate. |
Danette Tidwell

As an administrative professional, she has worked with hospital staff, project managers, engineers, accountants, and senior management to coordinate schedules, expenses and best practices. Always interested in new ingredients, Danette makes excellent soup! |
Sally Williams

Sally has been with the DFWHC Foundation for the past 8 years. Her extensive fund raising and project management experience brought her to the Council in 2003 to manage a grant that trained over 500 individuals in healthcare careers. In 2005, Sally became the Director of the Healthcare Workforce Center at the Foundation. Under her leadership, workforce related activities at the Council were consolidated and an Advisory Board was created. In her spare time, she coordinates activities for her son’s Boy Scout troop and spends at least once a month camping with all the boys! |
Carol Young

Carol attended Baylor University for her BSN and UT Arlington for her MHA. Her healthcare experience includes intensive care, peri anesthesia both in a hospital and ambulatory surgery center, outpatient clinic, telehealth, education and progressive leadership roles. In all her experience, she participated in quality and patient safety initiatives. In her off time she enjoys cooking and provides the evening and weekend walks for her Treeing Walker Hound. |
