A message in support of our health care community

Over the past few weeks, the men and women on the front lines of health care at Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas have labored under the most difficult circumstances imaginable. The unexpected arrival of the Ebola virus in our community tested our policies, our practices, and our people.

As with any first-time event, there have been both trials and triumphs. Important lessons were learned. Being tested under these exacting circumstances reminds us that the delivery of modern health care – and those individuals who devote their life to it – requires an unending pursuit of advancement.

We salute all of the outstanding health care practitioners and institutions who serve our community for their humanity, their strength in the face of adversity and their bravery.

We are blessed to have one of the most highly respected and advanced health care systems in the country. That was true before the events of these past weeks, and it will be true going forward.

To everyone involved in this seminal event, you have our respect, our support, and our gratitude.
